I hate when people are like They sold out blahblah. I'm pretty sure everyone wants them to make money. The commercial isn't Doritos or anything either it's pretty well done so..

I'm no Don Draper, but the Fred Falke remix of Two Weeks during the Harry Potter Wizarding World ad would put it over the edge of greatness. Kids raving at Hogwarts.

There is nothing wrong with them playing in a commercial for cars,
not to mention its not the first time that Two Weeks has played during a car add.
Got to make money somehow.

Not to mention Stevie fucking Wonder is in the commercial, don't get no better than that.

VW has always used pretty good music for their commercials, and considering the way VW runs their company (kind of like the Apple of the automotive industry), I'm perfectly fine with this song being used. In their Jetta commercials two years back they used several of Wilco's songs off of Sky Blue Sky, and I think they did it tastefully. Same goes here.

Plus Tracy Morgan + Stevie Wonder = Priceless as ryandougsmith pointed out.

I completely understand the mentality of going out and getting yours, at the same time, idk, it's a little unsettling to see a band that I admire greatly be used in an ad, now when people hear the song, they think, "Hey isn't that the song from the VW ad". Which is annoying, I hate when people find out about there music via advertisements. When "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" was used in a game, on last.fm majority of the comments were concerning the game, and it's an annoying sight. I hope it's not like that with Grizzly Bear, where a bunch of bangwagoning( no pun intended) people start listening to that song, which they would have otherwise never found out about, just because they heard it on a VW ad.

even so, it's also a good tool and resource for them. I know if I like a song I heard in a commercial, I'll go out of my way to find out what the song is and who the artist is and learn about them. so if they gain some new fans out of the millions of viewers out there, good for them. I hope they keep selling records and gaining exposure. artists work hard, and when something like that is accepted on a high media level, it's the start of only better things.
